What
A queued prompt is a message you type while Claude is still working, which is held and sent once Claude is ready. Each one records which earlier message it came from.
Claude Code now finds that earlier message and rewrites it to carry the queued prompt's own ID. The step that reads these IDs used to read only the link back to the source message. It can now read any named field.
Why
This changes how a queued prompt lines up with its original message in the conversation history. It may stop queued prompts appearing twice or out of order.
