What
A new command-line option, --desktop, opens the Claude Desktop app instead of running Claude Code in the terminal. You can combine it with --continue to open your most recent conversation, or with --resume <id> to open a specific session.
It has several limits:
It works only on macOS and Windows (x64). On other systems it says --desktop isn't available on this platform.
It needs you to be signed in with a Claude account.
It refuses to run non-interactively, alongside other flags, in restricted, safe or bare mode, or when given a prompt or input piped in from another command.
Claude Code looks for --desktop only before any -- separator on the command line.
Why
This gives you a direct way to move a terminal conversation into the desktop app, for example to continue working in a graphical window.
