What
When you come back to Claude Code after a long idle spell, it can show a hint like "new task? /clear to save N tokens". /clear starts a fresh conversation. Tokens are the units the model's context is measured in. The idle spell is 75 minutes.
That idle time used to be counted only from the moment your own last request finished. It now counts from whichever came later: your last request finishing, or another turn finishing elsewhere. A turn is one round of Claude reading a message and replying.
Something disagreesSomething we can check disagrees with this entry, or the writer said they could not settle it.
The writer flagged doubtNothing was found that reports these other turn completions, so this timing may not have any effect yet.
Anthropic's release notes agreeFixed a brief freeze (up to a second) partway through long sessions outside fullscreen mode, which came back after /clear or /compact
