What
Claude Code checks the scheme at the start of a link, the part such as https: before the address. It now removes tab, newline and carriage-return characters from anywhere in the link before it looks. Before, it only trimmed such characters from the start, so a scheme broken up by a line break was checked in its broken form.
Why
Browsers drop these characters when they read a link. Leaving them in could have let a link's real scheme slip past the check.
