What
A plugin marketplace is a catalog of plugins you add to Claude Code. If you add a marketplace under a name you already have but with a different source, Claude Code still replaces the old entry. Its log line now says what the source was before and what it is now, and the result passes the replaced source back along with it.
When adding a marketplace is refused because of the name the marketplace declares for itself, Claude Code now raises its own separate kind of error, and that error carries the declared name.
Why
Overwriting a marketplace's source is easy to do by accident. The log now shows which source you just replaced, so you can put it back if you did not mean to change it.
