What
Claude Code's input box has an optional vim mode, which lets you edit your prompt with vim-style keys. In insert mode, a new line typed with Return, Enter or Ctrl+J is now recorded as part of the insert. In multiline mode, when the backslash-then-Return shortcut is not turned off, Return also records the backslash that goes with it. Other typed text is recorded as before.
Why
In vim, . repeats your last edit. Repeating an insert that contained a new line should now put the new line back in too.
