What
The prompt box now keeps track of whether its text was typed entirely by hand. The tracking starts when the box is empty. It stays in place as long as every change is a single typed character or a single deletion.
Putting text in any other way clears it, including:
pasting
editing the prompt in an external editor
recalling an earlier prompt from history
When you send a prompt that was typed entirely by hand, Claude Code passes a marker along with it.
Why
This looks like preparation for handling hand-typed prompts differently from pasted or inserted ones. On its own, it does not change what you see.
