What
In auto mode, a separate check decides whether an action can go ahead without asking you. Claude Code sends that check your permission rules. When those rules are too large and have to be shortened or have some rules dropped, Claude Code now reports:
- how large they were before and after, in bytes
- how many allow rules were dropped
- how many rules there were
Before, the trimming happened with no report.
Why
This gives diagnostic information about oversized permission setups in auto mode. It does not change which actions are allowed.
