What
Managed policy is the set of rules an organisation pushes to its users. The apps gateway, the service that hands out this policy, now checks which app is asking. If a Claude Desktop session asks and the policy has no desktopSessionPayload, the gateway answers 404 "not served to Claude Desktop sessions". It also logs why: either serve_to_desktop is not set, or the CLI settings are empty.
Why
Policy meant for the command-line tool is not applied to Claude Desktop by accident. Administrators who want Desktop covered need to include a desktop payload.
