A self-hosted gateway is a server an organisation runs between its users and Claude, with policies that decide what each user gets. Gateway policies can now include an optional serve_to_desktop setting, which is passed along whenever a policy matches a user.
When a Desktop session finds no policy for its user, a new error tells the gateway administrator to check serve_to_desktop for that user's policy.
Why
Administrators get a direct pointer to the setting to fix when a Desktop user ends up with no policy.
