The environment variable CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL_FORCE has been added to a list of variables that also includes CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR and AWS and GCP cloud settings. Environment variables are named settings passed to a program when it is launched. A subagent is a helper that Claude Code starts to handle part of a task.
Separately, RUNNER_ENVIRONMENT, a variable set by GitHub Actions, was added next to GITHUB_ACTIONS in another list of environment variables.
Why
CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL_FORCE is now handled alongside other configuration variables such as CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR.
