What it is

Set a display name for the session, shown in /resume and the terminal title. You can resume a named session with claude --resume <name>. In an interactive session, if another live session on this machine already uses the name, Claude Code applies [a variant of it](/docs/en/sessions#name-your-sessions) instead. <br /><br />[/rename](/docs/en/commands) changes the name mid-session and also shows it on the prompt bar
