In an organization with no saved configuration, the console starts with Unified Claude on and stores it when you first click **Save changes** on the **Connection** page. Where the saved configuration leaves the **Opt into the new Chat and Cowork unified view** switch off, Unified Claude stays off until you turn it on or, unless an [exception](https://claude.com/docs/third-party/claude-desktop/unified-claude.md#enabling-unified-claude) applies, until November 10, 2026. The default goes by the settings each user gets from the organization and their groups.
