40* Added `behavesAs` to `inferenceModels` entries. It names the Claude model behind a gateway alias or other Model ID that Claude Desktop can’t identify, so the ID gets that model’s effort levels and limits. Once any entry sets it, sessions ignore `modelPicker` in people’s own Claude Code settings.
41* Added `defaultState` to remote `managedMcpServers` entries. Set it to `off` to provide a connector that stays out of each person’s sessions until they turn it on under Connectors in the + menu. Adding `off` to a connector in use turns it off for everyone who has not switched it on.
42* Added `oauth.omitResource` to remote `managedMcpServers` entries, for an identity provider that rejects the OAuth `resource` parameter, as Microsoft Entra ID can (AADSTS9010010). It needs `oauth.clientId`, an API `oauth.scope` and exactly one sign-in server, or the server is not loaded.
43* Added `platformOverrides` to local, remote and web search `managedMcpServers` entries, so that one configuration can give a server a different command, arguments, environment or helper on Windows, macOS and Linux. An invalid value under any one of them drops the server on every device.
44* Added `toolTimeoutSec` to local and remote `managedMcpServers` entries. It sets how many seconds, 5 to 3,600, a tool call to that one server may run, in place of `mcpToolTimeoutSec` for that server.
45* Added a warning in Cowork, Chat and Code once a person has used 75% of the token limit set with `inferenceMaxTokensPerWindow` and `inferenceTokenWindowHours`. Set `inferenceTokenWarningPercent` (1 to 100) to change the percent. At the limit it reads “Token limit reached” and cannot be closed.
46* Changed `managedMcpServers` entries with `server: "github"` so that `pull_request_review_write` asks before every call, comment-only reviews and thread resolves included, even when `toolPolicy` allows it. Where no prompt can be shown, the call is refused. `toolPolicy` can still block it.
47* Changed a failed `PreToolUse` or `PermissionRequest` hook with `"shell": "powershell"` to block the call on PCs without Git for Windows unless it sets `args` or `"onFailure": "continue"`. If written for Bash: remove `shell`, add `"onFailure": "block"` to keep blocking, install Git, reopen Claude.
48* Changed an unset `desktopHome` to open Unified Claude at launches after 12:00 PM PT on November 10, 2026. Where `coworkTabEnabled` is `false`, no feature turns on or off. With Cowork on, a set `chatSessionRetentionDays` without an equal `coworkSessionRetentionDays` keeps the current view.
49* Changed an unset `desktopHome` with Cowork on to also turn on Chat and Advanced file analysis when it starts to open Unified Claude (November 10, 2026), even if `chatTabEnabled` or `chatAdvancedFileAnalysisEnabled` is `false`.
50* Changed Chat, Cowork and Code sessions to no longer start while Claude’s provider connection settings are missing, invalid or not yet fetched from your organization’s server. Claude says so at once.
51* Changed the Microsoft 365 connector to keep each saved sign-in per `tenantId`, `clientId`, `azureCloud` and `continuousAccessEvaluation`. Connected users sign in again once after this update. Where `microsoftAuthDefaultAccount` is `enabled` on Windows, they get the account picker from then on.
52* Improved the “Configuration sync issue” banner for a fetched configuration with no connection settings that Claude can use. It now says to contact your administrator and adds “Copy report for IT”.
53* Updated the built-in GitHub connector to github-mcp-server v2.0.2. New tools that make changes ask before every call by default: `update_issue_comment` and, in toolsets that are off by default, `create_repository_ruleset`, `custom_properties_write` and `assign_copilot_to_issue_with_intent`.
54* Fixed Cowork and Chat saying that a connector your organization set up needs authorization or failed to connect, when Claude Code’s own configuration on the device, such as `managed-mcp.json`, lists a server of the same name. Cowork and Chat now leave out the device’s server of that name.
55* Fixed Cowork and Chat showing an error when Claude Code’s process was ended from outside the app while idle after a response had finished. On macOS that error blamed security software.
56* Fixed memory being impossible to pause when Cowork is turned off. Memory’s settings are now in Settings > General.
57* Fixed the Setup window leaving a typed value out of the saved or exported configuration: a host typed in “Allowed egress hosts” or “SSH host allowlist” before pressing Tab, or a tool picked under “Disabled built-in tools” without Add. Saving is now blocked while a JSON field holds invalid text.
