6464| `code.claude.com` and `claude.com` | 443 | Documentation lookups by the built-in claude-code-guide agent and pre-approved WebFetch requests during sessions. Blocking these hosts only affects documentation lookups. |
6565| `*.frame.claudeusercontent.com` | 443 | Only when the [Artifact tool](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/artifacts.md#availability) is available for sessions in your organization; defaults vary by plan, per the availability table there. Set `CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_ARTIFACT=1` on the runner to keep the tool disabled regardless of the organization setting. |
6666| `registry.npmjs.org` | 443 | When a session installs a plugin, both for fetching npm-source plugin packages and for installing a plugin's Node.js dependencies, or when an `npx`-launched MCP server runs |
67| An internal mirror of the package registries your builds use, or the registries themselves | 443, or your mirror's port | When sessions install dependencies to build or test your repositories |
6768| `http-intake.logs.us5.datadoghq.com` | 443 | Anthropic operational metrics. Only when `CLAUDE_CODE_BYOC_ENABLE_DATADOG=1` is set; off by default in self-hosted environments. |
6869| `browser-intake-us5-datadoghq.com` | 443 | Anthropic error-report uploads, sent only when [error reporting](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/data-usage.md#telemetry-services) is enabled for the session's account. Suppressed by `DISABLE_ERROR_REPORTING=1` or `DISABLE_TELEMETRY=1`. |
6970| Your cloud provider's endpoints for model requests, model lookups, and renewing credentials, such as `bedrock-runtime.us-east-1.amazonaws.com` or `aiplatform.googleapis.com` | 443 | Only when the runner [sends model requests to Amazon Bedrock or Google Cloud's Agent Platform](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/self-hosted-environments-configuration.md#send-model-requests-to-bedrock-or-agent-platform) |

713714### Release idle sessions on a fixed fleet
714715
715If sessions stay queued on a fixed fleet while every runner is online, idle sessions may be the cause. By default, a session keeps its slot after its turn finishes, and its runner stays locked to that session's [owner](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/self-hosted-environments#key-concepts). If your team's [cloud scheduled task](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/routines.md) starts a new session at each run, its idle sessions can fill every slot.

By default, a session keeps its slot after its turn finishes, and its runner stays locked to that session's [owner](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/self-hosted-environments#key-concepts). Other owners' sessions can't use that runner's free slots. If your team's [cloud scheduled task](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/routines.md) starts a new session at each run, its idle sessions can fill every slot.

717718To check, read `claude_code_self_hosted_runner_session_idle_seconds` in each runner's [Prometheus metrics](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/self-hosted-environments-reference.md#prometheus-metrics). Each session a runner holds has its own series: `0` while the session is busy, otherwise the seconds since it went idle. Choose the idle time you'd allow: longer than the pauses people take mid-task, and short enough that each run is released before the scheduled task's next one starts. Compare the series with it.
