What

These changes affect Claude Code running as a cloud session, where Claude works on a remote machine and streams its reply back.

  • New environment variable CLAUDE_CODE_CCR_SKIP_HYDRATE_ON_CURRENT_TIP: when set and early remote connect is on, Claude Code works out the end of its local transcript (the saved record of the conversation), waits for the server to say the local copy is already up to date, and then skips rereading the transcript. Before, an early resume always reread it.
  • thinkingStartGoesAtOnce, read from the server switch tengu_nimble_doorbell, default false.
  • thinkingFlushMs, read from tengu_hashed_lagoon, default 0.
  • liveTwinWaitMs, read from tengu_quirky_volcano, default 0.
  • skipsGoodbyeDuringResumeLoad, read from tengu_jolly_pudding.
  • A new waitForMoreMs delay holds back live pieces of the stream that contain only assistant text until the matching upload is done.

With their built-in defaults these settings do nothing. In a reading taken before this release, the server returned tengu_nimble_doorbell off for this site's account and for a signed-out baseline. Nothing has been read about the other three switches.

Why

These are settings for how quickly cloud sessions resume and how their streamed output is timed. Where they are turned on, resuming could be faster because the transcript is not reread when it is already current.

Feature flag
tengu_nimble_doorbell Off in both readings

The flag server returned off for the account this site reads and for the anonymous baseline. A reading of off cannot rule out a rollout these two readings sit outside of.

This account: off · anonymous baseline: off · compiled default in v2.1.319: off

These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.

tengu_hashed_lagoon Not enough to say

Nothing here resolved what this flag was doing on this version, so nothing here should be read as on or off.

This account: no value returned · anonymous baseline: no value returned · compiled default in v2.1.319: not a boolean we can read
