What
An MCP server (an add-on that gives Claude Code extra tools) can stand in for the built-in Artifact tools. When the model asks for an Artifact tool that is not there, Claude Code shows it a hint.
That hint now shows whenever Claude Code works out that the tools have been replaced, not only when one particular switch is on. It tells the model to call the MCP tools directly and to use tool search only if a tool it needs is not in its list. Before, it told the model to search for them first.
Why
The model should recover more directly when the Artifact tools have been swapped out, without an extra search step.
