Unclear It is not clear what REPL mode is or what restoring it changes for someone resuming a conversation.
What
A transcript is the saved record of a conversation that Claude Code keeps on disk so you can come back to it later. Three things about how it is written and read have changed:
- The list of tools used in a conversation is still added to the transcript, but by a separate step that runs when that list has grown.
- A record of a bridge session is no longer written when Claude Code is exiting and the file it would go into is the current session's own transcript.
- When you resume a saved conversation, Claude Code now also restores whether it was in REPL mode.
Why
Most of this is internal bookkeeping and is not meant to change what you see. The part you may notice is that a resumed conversation picks up the REPL mode it was in before.
