Unclear It is not clear what switches skills into script mode or whether that mode is available to users.
What
A skill is a packaged set of instructions you can run by typing /<skill-name>. Claude Code has a new wording in the instructions it gives Claude, used when skills are set to a "script" mode. In that mode, when you type /<skill-name>, Claude is told to run the skill by calling the Skill tool from a script, and to use only the skills listed as ones you can invoke.
Before, the instructions had only the default wording and one alternate wording.
Why
This points to a way of working where Claude calls its tools from a script it writes, rather than one tool call at a time, and skills can be run that way too.
