Unclear It is unclear whether anything turns on the usage-limit check in non-interactive sessions, so scripted or automated runs may or may not behave differently.
What
- Usage-limit check: Claude Code has a check that asks how much of your usage allowance is left. Before, it never ran in a non-interactive session, meaning a run where nobody is typing at the prompt. It can now run there when an option called
probeInNonInteractiveSessionallows it. - Auto mode: the rules for when auto mode skips a check done on Anthropic's servers have changed.
- PDF reads: when Claude Code reads a PDF, it now marks that action with its own kind of label. This lets Claude Code keep track of PDF reads separately from other actions.
Why
These are groundwork changes inside Claude Code and have no clear effect on what you do yet.
