What
A tool call is Claude asking Claude Code to run one of its tools, such as reading a file. When that request arrives from the API cut short, Claude Code now logs a dedicated error starting "API tool-call block cut off", instead of the general API error line.
Why
A cut-off tool call now has its own message, which makes it easier to tell apart from other API errors.
