What
Claude Code usually resizes images before sending them to the model. Some images arrive as attachments over a bridge, the link between Claude Code and claude.ai or the apps. If an image is already the model's own prepared copy of such an attachment, Claude Code now passes it on unchanged and records that it skipped the resize.
Why
The image was already prepared once, so Claude Code no longer shrinks it a second time.
