What

Claude Code has more parts of a mode in which Claude runs code in a REPL, an interactive tool that runs code and returns the result. All of it sits behind a feature check. The changes include:

  • Handling for results of a REPL run that was stopped partway
  • Handling for receipts from REPL runs that finish later in the background
  • A way for a tool to hide its own row on screen
  • A list of running scripts in the interface
  • Instructions for a tool Claude calls when it is idle, which returns events that are waiting
  • The tool now shown as Code instead of Eval

Usage data now records the mode as opt-in.
