What
cleanupPeriodDays is the setting that controls how many days Claude Code keeps transcripts (saved records of your conversations) before deleting them. Its built-in description now ends with one more sentence: "Cleanup deletes data only on this computer, not anything stored by Anthropic."
Why
It makes clear that this setting only controls copies on your own machine. It does not decide how long Anthropic keeps data on its servers.
