In a Remote Control session, where your Claude Code session is linked to another device, an attachment can be withdrawn or deleted. Before, only pictures were removed from the conversation when that happened. Now Claude Code also replaces:
Saved files that are not pictures
PDFs
References added with an @-mention
Results from the Read tool, which Claude uses to open files
Usage reporting now also counts how many Read results were cut.
Why
When you delete an attachment, less of its content stays behind in what Claude can still see.
