What
Claude Code has two checks for paths on Windows. A junction is a Windows kind of folder shortcut that points to another folder.
- The first check answers yes when a path is a junction or does not exist, and also for most errors it runs into.
- The second check reports whether a path is a junction.
On macOS and Linux both checks always answer no.
Why
In practice this only affects how Claude Code handles paths on Windows. It changes nothing on other systems.
