What
When a request is refused with HTTP 403 (a "forbidden" response) before it reaches Anthropic's servers, Claude Code can now show a dedicated message: "Request blocked before it reached Anthropic's API (HTTP 403) · the network this request came from isn't allowed: usually an unsupported region, or a VPN, proxy or hosting network". The message adds that signing in again won't help.
Why
Signing out and back in does not fix this kind of block. The message points instead at your location or at the VPN, proxy or hosting network you connect through.
