Unclear Whether plugin function hooks are switched on by default, and whether the terminal shows the backdrop, is not clear.
What
Plugins, add-ons that extend Claude Code, can now draw a backdrop behind the terminal interface.
- A plugin calls
ui.backdropwith{ backdrop: { id, glass? } }. - The optional glass settings are blur (from 0 up to a maximum), opacity (0 to 1) and a raw tint colour. The defaults are blur 16 and opacity 0.6.
- Calling it with undefined clears that plugin's backdrop.
- Arguments are checked, and bad ones return messages such as 'glass.opacity is a number, 0 to 1'.
- The
ui_attachrequest, sent by a client that connects to show a session, gains adrawslist naming extra components that client draws, such asBackdrop. A list of more than 16 names is refused.
Why
Plugins get a new visual surface, and clients that show a session elsewhere can say whether they draw it.
