Unclear What the compose operation does to a permission rule is not stated.
Permission rules decide which actions Claude Code may take without asking you. The operation that updates these rules used to accept only add and remove. It now accepts a third value, compose, and its error message reads "op must be one of: add, remove, compose".
The check behind that message also used to look at the wrong value, so it now actually tests the operation that was given.
This gives tools that edit permission rules a new way to change them, and invalid operations are now caught properly.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
