In some setups, Claude Code replaces gh, GitHub's command-line tool, with a stand-in that works through a proxy and gives Claude hints. Its hint for git clone now adds a note: it works on github.com only, and there is no form for a GitHub Enterprise host, whether or not --hostname is given.
Why
Claude gets clearer guidance, so it is less likely to try this clone form against a GitHub Enterprise server.
