In sessions where the GitHub command-line tool gh is not available, Claude Code offers a stand-in that tells Claude how to do the same thing with gh api. The stand-in now handles gh repo create, mapping it to gh api user/repos for a personal repository or gh api orgs/<org>/repos for an organisation. It warns that the proxy may refuse the request.
Why
Claude now has guidance for creating a repository in sessions without gh, instead of having no way to do it.
