Unclear It is not clear what Esc or Ctrl+C now does differently when you are viewing an agent.

What

Pressing Esc or Ctrl+C cancels what Claude Code is doing. The check behind that now has an extra condition: when you are viewing an agent, a helper Claude runs on part of a task, that state no longer counts as background work.

Why

What Esc does may now be different when agents are running in the background.
