What
When Claude Code is waiting for permission to use a tool, a short status line describes the wait. It used to always say "waiting for you to approve" followed by the tool's name.
It now says that only when the pending request cannot be handled by the automatic approval classifier. The classifier is a check that can approve some actions without asking you. In every other case the status reads "waiting for" the tool's name, then "to be approved".
Why
The status no longer tells you that you have to approve something when the automatic check may approve it for you.
