What
A permission mode decides how Claude Code asks for approval, for example bypassPermissions, which skips asking. Claude Code sometimes rewrites the active mode. One check that depends on the mode now passes if either the current mode or the mode in use before the rewrite is bypassPermissions or one of a couple of other modes. Before, this check did not look at the mode at all.
Why
This can change whether some permission-related behaviour applies after your mode has been rewritten.
