What
Managed policies are settings set centrally for Claude Code, and a catch-all base policy can sit underneath the more specific ones. Claude Code now merges that base policy into each of the others in a single step that produces the whole merged policy. Before, the command-line, desktop and serve-to-desktop parts were each merged separately, each in its own way.
Why
The merge decides which settings a policy picks up from the catch-all. If you manage Claude Code through these policies, check that the merged result still holds what you expect.
