What

When Claude Code starts the process for a cloud session, it passes along a chosen list of environment variables (named settings a program reads when it starts). That list is now picked in one of two ways:

  • when a check reports the setup as safe, the base list is widened with several extra groups of variables
  • otherwise, the base list is used
Why

This changes which environment variables can reach the process started for a cloud session, which matters if that process relies on a setting from your environment.
