Unclear Whether peerLookupWaitMs is something a reader can set, and what its default is, is not stated.
What
Claude Code's TCP proxy passes network connections along. When a connection arrives, it looks up which program on the computer opened it. Before, that lookup ran alongside the connection while data was already flowing.
The proxy now pauses reading data from the client until the lookup finishes, or until a time limit set by peerLookupWaitMs runs out.
Why
Rules that depend on which program opened a connection can now take effect before any of that connection's data gets through.
