What

When Claude Code connects with custom certificates, it uses its own connection settings. This covers mTLS, where both sides present certificates, and a custom certificate authority, which is a certificate your organisation uses to vouch for servers. Those settings already kept connections open between requests. They now also set how often a keep-alive signal is sent on an idle connection.

Why

If you connect through a proxy that uses mTLS or a custom certificate authority, idle connections may be dropped less often.
