What
Claude Code can compress the data it sends to the API using gzip, a common compression format. When that compression goes wrong, it already counted the problem. It now also writes a log entry:
A rejected compressed request is logged as a warning.
A failed check on part of the compressed data is logged as a warning.
A self-check that finds the wrong bytes is logged as an error.
Why
Problems with request compression now show up in diagnostic logs, which makes them easier to spot.
