What
A subagent is a helper agent that Claude starts to handle part of a task. When a session is set up, Claude Code can now take in a question that a subagent had kept waiting, along with that subagent's earlier calls when the session is resumed. Permission handling also gains a way to hold such a kept question. A matching route was added to the code that shows dialogs other than tool prompts.
Why
In practice, a question a subagent was waiting on when you left a session could still be there when you resume it.
