What

Auto mode lets Claude Code decide on permissions without asking you, using a safety check called the classifier. Claude Code now builds a list of alternative tool names (aliases) and can remove any permission rule that names a whole tool by one of those aliases from the rules it sends to the classifier. This only happens when a separate internal condition is true.

Why

It changes which of your permission rules the auto mode safety check sees.
