What
On Windows, Claude Code checks file paths using a handle, which is a reference the operating system hands out for an open file. That check now passes a few extra values internally. One of them always comes out empty whichever way it is worked out, so the check behaves the same as before.
Why
Nothing changes for you in practice. The adjustment may prepare for later work on how paths are handled on Windows and WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux, a way to run Linux inside Windows).
