What

When Claude Code serves tools from a virtual machine (a computer simulated inside another), setup now accepts an option naming the guest machine. The waiting message now reads "the VM they must run in is still starting", where it used to say "the Linux VM".

The status banner also now warns when the virtual machine's operating system differs from the operating system of the machine running it.

Why

The wording no longer assumes the virtual machine runs Linux. The new warning flags when the two operating systems do not match.
