Unclear What either switch changes in the VS Code extension is not known.
What
Claude Code now sends two new server-controlled switches to its VS Code extension: tengu_optimized_puzzle and tengu_vscode_code_colors. A server-controlled switch is a setting Anthropic's servers can turn on or off. Both count as on if the server sends nothing. The second one's name points to colouring of code.
Why
Both are on unless the server says otherwise, so the VS Code extension may behave differently without any change on your part.
