What
An MCP server is an outside service that gives Claude Code extra tools. Claude Code now reads per-tool permission settings for MCP servers connected over http or sse as well as for servers that come through the claude.ai proxy. SSE (server-sent events) is a way for a server to keep sending updates over one connection.
Why
Permissions set for individual tools may now be honoured on more kinds of MCP server.
