What
MCP servers are add-on programs that give Claude extra tools and data. When Claude Code reads a resource or a folder from one of them, the read can now be cancelled. A cancelled read ends with a cancellation error. Before, the read could not be cancelled, and it could end by wrongly reporting that the path was not a folder or that the server did not support the request.
Why
Interrupting a read from an MCP server that has stalled now actually stops it.
