What
Claude Code can install a companion extension or plugin into your code editor (your IDE). When that install fails, the IDE row in /status now says "Couldn't install the Claude Code" extension or plugin and names the IDE. It also links to instructions for installing it yourself. The old message read "Error installing ..." and told you to restart your IDE and try again.
If your IDE is already connected to Claude Code, the install error is no longer shown.
Why
The new wording says what went wrong and gives you a way to fix it by hand. You also no longer see an old error once the IDE has connected anyway.
