What
A diff is the side-by-side or line-by-line view of what was added and removed in a file. When Claude Code builds a diff for a tool result and whitespace is not being ignored, it now uses a different comparison method. The amount of surrounding context and the time limit stay the same.
Why
Diffs from file edits and writes shown in results may break changes into slightly different blocks than before.
