Unclear It is not clear what values the server sends, so the limit a session actually gets is unknown.
Claude Code can give a shell command a timeout, the longest it may run. The maximum allowed can now come from two remote settings, which fall back to 0 when the server sends nothing. A value is used only if it is:
- a whole number of minutes (a multiple of 60000 ms)
- at least five minutes (300000 ms)
- no larger than the limit built into Claude Code
Any other value is ignored and a warning is logged. Claude is told in its instructions what the longest allowed timeout is for the session.
The server can now raise or lower how long shell commands may run in a session.

This account: no value returned · anonymous baseline: no value returned · compiled default in v2.1.311: not a boolean we can read
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
