Tool search is how Claude finds a tool by name when it does not have every tool loaded. Before matching, the search text used to be lowercased and then trimmed of surrounding spaces. It is now trimmed first, passed through an additional cleanup step, and then lowercased.

Matching tool names, including MCP tool names that begin with mcp__, may behave slightly differently.
